Because reading is hot.

Book Club For Hotties–it’s all in the name, because lets face it girls that read are h-o-t hot!

Here’s the skinny: 12 books in a year, one book a month. All the hotties get together once a month at someone’s house and talk books, eat good food, and drink wine (or whatever).

For the long distance hotties: there are Skype options as well as blog commentary possibilities!

Hi girls! of course our first date (october 3) is out for me. However, I am going to read this and will blog comment, so be sure to have the computers up and ready! I am excited to meet everyone in future months. Mon, great idea-

    • Oh, boo. I am sorry you can’t make this meeting, Jen. We will definitely blog about it. And, we’ll put the booklist up, so please weigh in on what you want to read!

    • (¡!) Then I say we read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory so I can bust out a purple tux and top hat.

  2. I have an idea for you ladies: Have a Book Club Con where you dress up as characters from the book!

I love the dress-up idea…I just don’t have much imagination….I could have been a creme brulee today!
Ok, so-my opinion-I didn’t like it. I couldn’t get through it. I tried, my friends, I truly tried. I just can’t get into the France thing. I’m not a lover of French food-as a whole-and I was the kid that would watch Julia Child with my Dad and laugh at her. I tried to put all that aside…for the love of God, it’s a book-not like I had to eat the cuisine. and I was a kid, I surely could be the bigger person and get over my childhood antics. Well, at the first mention of escargot-I almost puked. And of course with all the talk about the movie and the book-dad and I ran into Julia Child once again on PBS. And yes, we laughed. I am not worthy of giving any more of a report than this. I have let you all down. I could not complete the assignment. I will try harder next time.
Other than that, Mon, I am sad to missing your world famous guac and upset that I’m missing what I am sure is great conversation a million laughs. Let me know about next month’s book. I will make you all proud!

    • Aw, I had a whole reply and it just went away. Here is what I said: Jen, you aren’t letting anyone down. Only 3 people actually finished it and the overall sentiment was luke-warm. Anyway, we missed you. The food and company was fantastic! And, I have three bottles of wine left over!! We talked about the book for about 10 minutes and the rest of the time, we got to know each other, and ate food while my dog begged like a shameless cur.

Next: we’re reading The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro (the audio is supposed to be awesome). We may meet at It’s Greek to Me, but that hasn’t been decided yet. Some rules that we adopted: We’re alternating between fiction and non-fiction; we’re deciding as we go what books we’re reading; and we’re only reading books that are new to everyone.

Send dates for November! I ordered The Strain today!
