“Reading is the sole means by which we slip, involuntarily, often helplessly, into another’s skin, another’s voice, another’s soul.”
— Joyce Carol Oates
Another poll! Yay!
So, what characters of any book would you want to know if you could? Would you you swap brewskis and comics with Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons? Would Claire and Jamie Fraser from Outlander be great friends to have over for tea? Would you somehow persuade Jamie to take off his shirt so he could fix whatever is broken in your house (or is that just me?)? What about Lisbeth from Dragon Tattoo, would you want to be in her group of Swedish punk lesbians? Would you want to know Juliet, Isola, Elizabeth, and Sydney from Guernsey, or a real person like Julia Child? What about Hansel and Gretel?
See my answers after you post yours!

hmmm, very good question. It will require some pondering while standing in front of my bookshelf.
Of books I’ve read recently, I definitely would want to know Salander for Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. And, I am reading Harriet the Spy to The Kid right now, and would of course, want to know any of the characters in that book. I would also want to know Flavia De Luce from The Sweetness at the Bottom of The Pie, and of course there is Marlys from the eponymous comic by Lynda Barry. All the characters I would want to know at this moment in my life are girls who are all around 12, except for Slander, but she’s so damaged, that you end up wanting to protect her from all of Sweden and herself.
